Alassane Ouattara Stadium, commonly known as the Olympic Stadium of Ebimpé and formerly as the National Stadium of the Ivory Coast, is a multi-purpose stadium in Ebimpé and Anyama, in northern Abidjan. 2020 saw its opening.

Major football games are held at the stadium, including the Ivory Coast national football team's home games. Owner of Alassane Ouattara Stadium is the Ivory Coast government.

It is the biggest stadium in Ivory Coast and among the most advanced in Africa, holding 60,000 spectators.

Beijing Institute Architectural Design was the design firm.

The new Ivory Coast national stadium was well located between the communes of Anyama and Ebimpé, some distance from Abidjan.

It is located about 20 kilometers directly north of the center of Abidjan. The choice to move the nation's athletic center outside of the city borders was intentional.

In the end, it's supposed to be a crucial component of a vast 287-hectare sports city that would eventually grow to be one of Africa's biggest recreation and sports areas, housing a variety of sports like football, rugby, and athletics.

Regarding the stadium itself, the first phase of development only included the stadium's immediate surrounds, which included four plazas and 1,400 parking spots.

The stadium is located on a 20 acre rectangular block of land.

The project required substantial excavation, involving the removal of almost 500,000 tons of soil, due to changes in land elevation.

There were several difficulties during this early phase, which were made worse by persistently high rainfall that caused mudslides.

Under the direction of Prime Minister Daniel Kablan Duncan, the stadium was primarily designed and construction was started with the intention of hosting the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

However, on November 30, 2018, CAF deprived Cameroon of hosting the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations due to delays in the construction of stadiums and other necessary infrastructure; it was moved to Egypt.

Ahmad Ahmad, the CAF President at the time, stated that Cameroon has consented to host the competition in 2021 instead.

As a result, the Africa Cup of Nations in 2023 will be held in Ivory Coast, the original 2021 hosts. The timeline shift was confirmed by the CAF President on January 30, 2019, following a meeting in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, with President Alassane Ouattara.
