Palmer equals Hazard's Chelsea goalscoring record
Cole Palmer continued his impressive debut season at Chelsea with a brace in Saturday's 2-2 home draw with Burnley in the Premier League.
Palmer opened the scoring with a penalty in the 44th minute and again in the 78th minute to make the final score 2-1.
Organizers of England's top flight, the Premier League, said Palmer's first goal made him the first Chelsea player since Eden Hazard to score in five consecutive home league games.
With his brace against Burnley, he now has 13 goals in 24 league games for the Blues this season.
Despite a disappointing draw against Burnley in which a player and manager (Vincent Kompany) were sent off, Chelsea are unbeaten in their last five games. Mauricio Pochettino's side have won three and drawn two of their last five games in all competitions.
Their last loss was on February 25, 2024, when they lost 1-0 to Liverpool in the League Cup final.
The Blues are currently 11th in the league table with 40 points.
They remain in contention for the title as they face Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final on April 20.
