Iheanacho and Ndidi set to return to Premier League
Leicester City resumed their bid for automatic promotion to the Premier League with a thrilling 3-1 come-from-behind victory over Norwich City at the King Power Stadium on Monday.
The result temporarily puts rivals Ipswich and Leeds United at the top of the Championship, although they have yet to play a game.
The Foxes recovered from an early deficit after Gabriel Sala gave Norwich the lead with a corner kick in the 20th minute. Leicester responded quickly and Keenan Dewsbury-Hall equalized just 13 minutes later.
Steffy Mavididi gave Leicester the lead shortly after the start with a wonderful curling shot into the top corner.
The legendary Jamie Vardy scored the winner in stoppage time. The former England striker took advantage of a block from Harry Winks to slot the ball into the goal, securing all three points for Leicester.
Leicester's victory restored them to the top of the Championship, albeit temporarily. They are currently one point behind second-placed Ipswich and two points behind third-placed Leeds United.
The battle for automatic promotion is expected to be an exciting race with all three teams vying for a top two spot that will guarantee a return to the Premier League. Despite the defeat, Norwich City remain in the play-offs and currently sit in 6th place.
The Championship play-offs will determine which team will take the third and final promotion spot to the Premier League. Although their hopes of automatic promotion have been thwarted, Norwich can still secure a chance to finish top of the table in the play-offs.
