11th and 12th Induction ceremony of The Newly Qualified Teachers at University of Uyo

Today is the induction of 549 Teachers by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) at the University of Uyo, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

There was a procession of the newly inductees from the faculty along side with the Dean of the faculty, TRCN chairperson, TRCN registrar to the venue ground.

Dean analyse the event by mention how many TRCN inductees we have in the University.

Former vice chancellor Prof. Mrs. Comfort Ekpo

Chairperson (Former Vice Chancellor, Mrs. Comfort Ekpo) of the event says that the teaching profession is unpardonable to compromise the intergrity of the profession, she also said that training a teacher is a process, teaching profession came into place in 1993 and was organized in Onyeama Orochukwo Hall in University of Uyo. Aim is to expose the newly qualified teachers to understand, intigrate and practice the profession well. Lastly, she advice the inductees to be a teacher means to be a live long learner.

Deputy vice chancellor academic stated by recognizing all the people sitting in the high table and everyone then she present the address of the vice chancellor. She encourages them to be serious in their profession.

The registrar acknowledge the vice chancellor and his team. He said Uniuyo rank very high in... He said that teaching profession has catapults many years. He also said that teachers must be certified sound.

The registrar said that technology (AI) will not replaced teachers. He advised the Teacher Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) to provide the University of Uyo, Uyo with ICT equipment. He welcome them to the noble profession and also advised the inductees to see themselves as one and he congratulates them.

The Presentation of the inductees was done by the Dean, faculty of education. 

College of education Afaha Nsit send their representative and also Nigerian Union of teachers also send their representative. 

The SUG president was not left out at the event.

There was presentation of certificate to the inductees by the Dean of the faculty.

The closing remarks was made by the chairperson in the person of "Prof. Comfort Ekpo", she reminds the inductees that the should not be a stand alone teachers, she advised them to join the Nigerian Union of Teachers.
