Actress Kate Henshaw criticises Nigeria's new electricity tariff system

Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw spoke out against recent changes to Nigeria's electricity tariff system, calling it unfair and "daylight theft."

On
July 9, 2024, Henshaw shared: "Let everyone have access to electricity and pay a fair price for what they consume. And yet they raise the tariff every 2-3 months!! Stealing daylight in the darkness."

The
Duchess of Cambridge responded to journalist Olive Modi's comments on Nigeria's electricity supply shortage. Modi explained that in April 2024, the power company divided customers into groups A to E, with group A receiving the most electricity but paying the most for it. Some complained that they had to pay exorbitant prices for unreliable electricity.

Modi
added: "Life in Nigeria feels like a kind of toxic relationship, where you're always expecting something to go wrong."

Many
X-users had visited Henshaw's page. One commenter said authorities were giving poor advice, such as urging people to turn off their refrigerators when they go out.
