Aston Villa are the favourites for Philippe Coutinho's next club, while Tottenham and Newcastle have shortened their odds

 Aston  Villa are still favourites to recruit Barcelona star  Philippe Coutinho, although Tottenham and Newcastle have both shortened their  positions in the market.

Villa were as short as 1/6 on Wednesday to re-sign former Liverpool midfielder Coutinho, with the pair's Anfield ties highlighted as the Midlanders'  unique selling point.

Villa are still favourites to sign the 29-year-old,  for whom Barcelona paid Liverpool £105 million in 2018, although they face heavy competition from Premier League rivals.

Tottenham Hotspur, managed by Antonio Conte, are the main  movers in the market, having gone from 28/1 on Wednesday to 4/1 in just 24 hours.
